PRESENTACIÓN ERNESTO LEÓN

Ernesto León nace en Caracas, Venezuela. Realiza estudios de arte en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Madrid, España, en la Universidad Nacional de México (UNAM) y finalmente en la Universidad de Nueva York, USA.
Con más de 23 exposiciones individuales y  130 exposiciones colectivas en diferentes partes del mundo, ha ilustrado libros, creado escenografías para películas, participado en proyectos  con arquitectos, diseñado tapices, realizado esculturas; originando organismos de actividad creativa para artistas, física y virtualmente
Con 20 años de intensa actividad ha expuesto en prestigiosos museos en Francia, Inglaterra, España, Suiza, Italia, Japón, Estados Unidos, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Brasil y Chile entre otros.
Finalmente, su obra de carácter antropológico registra arquetipos relacionados directamente con la cultura Hispanoamericana, con su paisaje, con el Arte Prehispánico, con animales,     con Arte Colonial, y con los habitantes de América.
Actualmente reside en Estados Unidos donde realiza investigaciones en la red así como propuestas experimentales e investigaciones relacionadas con la fotografía. Cabe destacar que las mismas propuestas de la red se iniciaron en 1992 con la obra llamada “Bodegón”    y con otra obra llamada “Un millón de unos”.

Ernesto Leon was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He attended the School of Fine and Applied Arts in Madrid, Spain, the National University of Mexico and the New York University, USA.With more than 23 individual exhibitions and 130 collective exhibitions all over the world, Leon has illustrated books, created film sets, collaborated on projects with architects, designed tapestries, and has made sculptures; producing a physical and virtual forum of creative activities for artists. In 20 years of intense activity, he has shown his work in prestigious museums in France, England, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, the United States, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, and Chile among others. His work, distinguished by an anthropological character, registers archetypes directly related to the Hispanic-American culture, its landscape, its animals, and its Latin American inhabitants. At this time he lives in the United States where he researches and produces web-based works of art and develops experimental proposals related to photography.The origins of the new artistic forms that Ernesto Leon is currently engaged with are derived from his well-known art works titled “Bodegon” and “Un millon de unos”.Ernesto Leon is today represented in several collections both public and private throughout the world.
